KamPAIGN

California native KamPAIGN is a soulful singer with an intoxicating style and unbelievable depth. Some artists play instruments, but KamPAIGN is the instrument seamlessly blending R & B, Hip Hop, and Jazz with his trademark acapella harmonies called “Vocalmentals.” KamPAIGN’s rhythmic Vocalmentals pay effortless tribute to the continued evolution of soul music.
KamPAIGN has lived music his entire life. He was inspired by his songwriter father, and spent his early years touring the country with his mother, soul-singer Patty Henley. In addition to his parents, KamPAIGN’s other musical influences include such icons as Marvin Gaye, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Al Jarreau, KRS-ONE, and The Roots, to name a few.
The diversity of KamPAIGN’s influences comes through in his music, and he has collaborated with such Hip Hop artists as Scarub, Mista RuL.A., and JDavey. His music has also been featured everywhere from the Sundance Film Festival to the movie Gamebox 1.0 to the skateboard short, “In Through The Out Door.” KamPAIGN also performs frequently at concert venues throughout California. As if that weren’t enough, KamPAIGN is also an accomplished actor, having appeared in such productions as “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Great Expectations,” “The Message Is In The Music,” and “Rejoice.”
KamPAIGN’s 2009 debut album, KamPAIGN FOR REAL MUSIC, gave us all just a taste of what this musical enigma has to offer, and he is currently working on his second studio album to be released this fall. In the meantime, look for KamPAIGN at a studio, concert, or cipher near you, kicking up dust for the new age soul renaissance…
