Jimetta Rose

Los Angeles native Jimetta Rose is putting L.A. back on the soul music radar with an old soul and a vintage voice. Music and language are her chosen vehicles for social change and self actualization. The singer/songwriter and novelist plans to use her words and melodies to inspire, incite, and excite people to their own creative potential.
She is well on her way to doing just that. Her single “America,” was produced by Georgia Anne Muldrow. The single is now available worldwide on Itunes and at most local music stores through Groove Attack Records. She was chosen by the Babavuka Girls Organization as one of the American artists to be represented on a charity compilation CD with inspirational, trendsetting artists from around the world. Proceeds from the sales of the CD will provide school supplies and feminine hygiene products to young Ghanaian girls.
In a relatively short time Jimetta’s artistry has allowed her to work with an array of diverse artists from Aloe Blacc, and Sa-Ra Creative Partners, to Georgia Anne Muldrow, and most recently she wrote and sang “Lost & Found” which was featured on Shafiq Husayn’s debut solo album “Shafiq En-A-Free-Ka.” The song was also the door that opened and allowed her to work with soul phenomenon Bilal. In 2009 she got the tremendous opportunity to open for Erykah Badu at the House of Blues on NYE as a featured vocalist with Shafiq’s En-A-Free-Ka Ensemble.
In December 2009 Jimetta released her debut solo album “The Barber’s Daughter.” Laced with introspective prose, velvety vocal punches, and markedly exceptional production from some of Los Angeles’ most revered underground producers, her highly-anticipated solo debut “The Barber’s Daughter” is an impressive showcase of her talent as a singer/songwriter, poet, and thinker. Sure to make waves on the mainstream music radar, “The Barber’s Daughter” is not one to miss.
Jimetta still resides in Los Angeles and has her very own band called “The Beautiful Things.” You can see them live in the Los Angeles area. For booking info or performance calendar, please visit: jimettarose.com or follow the songstress on twitter at twitter.com/jimettarose.
