White Domestic Terrorism on the Rise- Live Audio & Video of 580 Shootout in Oakland

reposted from Davey D’s Hip Hop Corner
Article entitled: Shootout on 580 Freeway: Byron Williams Shows Oakland What ‘Outside Agitation’ is Really About

http://hiphopandpolitics.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/shootout-on-580-freeway-byron-williams-shows-oakland-what-outside-agitation-is-really-about/

Here’s compelling audio and video from last night’s 580 freeway shootout in Oakland. Apparently we had a right wing guy named Byron Christopher Williams who was on parole who was mad the government was pushing through what he considered a left wing agenda. The man had body armor and tons of hardware as he did battle with California Highway patrol in Oakland injuring two officer. Williams was hit multiple times but survived and his in stable condition.
What no one wants to talk about is the increasing number of these domestic terrorist type of incidents that have taken place this year. For example, no one wants to talk about the angry Fausto Cardenas who showed up at the state capitol in Austin, Texas and shot it up this past January.. A month or so later we had another angry guy named Joseph Stack show up and fly an airplane into an IRS building killing a Black man named Vernon Hunter who was an army vet and had worked at the IRS for 20 years. We wont even talk about the numerous bomb and anthrax scares, the horrific shooting and Fort Hood leaving 13 dead and high number of threats made against government employees.

The Black Man is Endangered (Oscar Grant) by Tamara Blue

Last night I held my son until he fell asleep in my arms
Rubbed his head and
Repeated prayers in his ear until he awoke

He wiped my tear as it rolled down my check
Sang the Barney song and gave me a hug

I told him I loved you
He told me he lobed me to

But how do I tell him
There is no way that I can properly prepare you.
How do I teach you to be confident and independent?
in a society that with out justifiable reasons
will castrate you
rape you
beat you
imprison you
and kill you
with little to no punishment or justice

When is the right time to tell you?
That you are on your own in this society
When do I tell you that your black skin is a threat?
All on its own

All men are at risk in these days
Where officers are trained to kill
and cuff
And ask question later

But Black me are endangered
And I don’t see no buttons
I aint seen no stickers
But they are surly
most definitely
killing Black Men

OMAR BROADWAY STORY GIVES US A RAW LOOK INTO AMERICAN PRISON SYSTEM

Take a rare look behind the walls of America’s prisons to see what really goes on when the authorities think no one is watching. In an unprecedented move, filmmaker Omar Broadway, a prisoner inside Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey, managed to sneak a video camera into his cell. Broadway’s documentary shows us the daily, unrelenting torture and brutality that these men face while our eyes are closed and our backs are turned. These are not correctional facilities, they are modern torture-chambers. Is this what we call justice? Decide for yourself.

Faith, Oh Where Can You Be? by Melanyn Monroe

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been thinking a lot about faith. What is it exactly? Where can I get some more of it? Needless to say in this recession riddled economy and this war torn world faith would be a hot commodity. So I went in search of it. I read books, took long walks, and watched people as they bought oranges, watched people as they shopped in malls, watched people as they drove in their cars looking neither left nor right only straight ahead, I cried, I laughed a lot and then one day I found a parking space and it suddenly hit me favor and faith are connected. Faith is found in the belief that you not only deserve favor but that in fact favor is your right. In case you weren’t raised Christian like me (although I have since started to walk my own spiritual path) or perhaps just never heard the term “walk in favor”, in essence, it is walking in the favor of God due to your good acts and faith…things just always seem to work out your way…or in a way that is in your best interest. Finding that parking space in what seemed like a sea of cars took my thoughts to “favor”, and lead me to explore this relationship between favor and faith.
